Associate Professor, University College London
Michail Stamatakis

Michail Stamatakis is Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at University College London, UK. He obtained his PhD from Rice University in 2009 and performed post-doctoral research at the lab of Prof. Dionisios G. Vlachos at the University of Delaware. He has developed a graph-theoretical kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) framework for the detailed investigation of surface kinetics, as well as a documented software package, Zacros, which implements this approach. His research efforts aim towards obtaining a fundamental understanding of the underlying physico-chemical processes during catalysis and materials synthesis, via multiscale computational methods. He is a member of the Thomas Young Centre (the London Centre for the Theory and Simulation of Materials), the UK Catalysis Hub and the Centre for Process Systems Engineering, and has co-authored over 30 scientific works.
