Example of surface restructuring event
Work by IMASC researchers David Jin Soo Lim, Nicola Molinari, Kaining Duanmu, Philippe Sautet, and Boris Kozinsky is featured in the latest EFRC newsletter from the DOE. Lim et. al have pioneered an automated event-extraction method to rapidly study the surface restructuring in bimetallic catalyst materials, and have used it to discover new surface restructuing pathways. This work was featured, along with work from the Center for Bio-Inspired Energy Science (another EFRC) as an example of multiscale modelling, the combination of methodologies that can be powerful for advancing materials design for sustainable energy technologies, and which exemplify the EFRC approach.
