IACS is pleased to welcome Professor Efthimios (Tim) Kaxiras as the Institute's new faculty director, as Professor Hanspeter Pfister, who has served as director since 2013, ends his term. IACS is deeply grateful to Professor Pfister for his invaluable contributions, leadership, and advocacy over the past several years.
Professor Kaxiras is the John Hasbrouck Van Vleck Professor of Pure and Applied Physics. His research interests include modeling physical and biological phenomena and systems, electromagnetics and nanoelectronics, materials science, and high performance computing. We look forward to working with Professor Kaxiras during this next state of IACS's growth and expansion.
